As part of a symptom assessment (e.g., new lump, nipple discharge, pain).
As part of some well-woman visits, depending on local screening policies and personal risk.
The clinician inspects and then gently palpates all breast areas and lymph nodes. If anything is concerning, imaging (mammogram/ultrasound) and sometimes a needle biopsy are arranged.
Population breast cancer screening recommendations vary by country and age. We follow local guidelines and tailor screening to personal and family risk.

What we look for: skin dimpling, nipple inversion or discharge, rashes, focal pain, or lumps.
What happens after a finding: targeted ultrasound for most lumps, mammography based on age/risk, and core-needle biopsy if imaging is suspicious.
Self-awareness: being familiar with your own normal look and feel helps you notice change; report new changes promptly.
